Ah, the stuff of my younger dreams back in the 1950s. Despite living in an almost Victorian town, Ms. Page informed me through her pictures that there WERE some interesting and sexy women out there in the larger world, and I couldn’t wait to graduate high school, leave home, and find them. Thank you, Ms. Page, rest in peace.

Good bye, sweet sunshine! You were a little girl who stumbled across a beach one day and your life was never the same. Then you were a woman and you
became fortune and fame. I want to remember you as the Pin Up Queen who
stormed the covers of Men’s magazines across the globe. Perhaps this is selfish but those who really knew you know much of your life was hard and
unkind, so I’ll just remember you when you were that beautiful angel, young
and innocent.
May you rest in peace, miss Page. If there is a Heaven, then you are in your
Nirvana.

Although modeling was a very important part of her life, and some would say the most important part, there was a lot more to her that a few know and seem to care to know more about. Ever since I found out that she attended the same school that I attended and that she devoted a lot of her time to helping unmarried mothers and their children, I wanted to know more about this incredible person. She would take long bus trips from her school just to do this, and she did this with joy. I think she had a heart of gold and she was also very smart. She was determined to do a lot more than just model because she knew she had much more to give to her society and the world, which she did. If I was looking for a life-long companion, she would have been the perfect wife. I’m sure she was someone that you could have a very interesting conversation with, not just about trivial things. I know I’ll have the pleasure of meeting and learning from her when we meet some day.
